FAQ Activ-Vial: Spectrumceuticals Pro8-50 plus
Will my probiotics still be 'alive' after shipping?
With Activ-Vial protected packaging our probiotics are stable at room temperature of 25°, they do not need refrigeration.
When probiotics reach room temperature or above, there will be up to a 2% loss of colony forming units (CFU) for each 24-hour period the probiotic is above 25°C but below 37°C. Deterioration occurs mostly above 25°C, so Activ-Vial packaged probiotics can travel for approximately a maximum of 14 days above 25°C but below 37°C before viability is affected.
High temperatures can kill probiotics, and exposure to temperatures above 46°C can increase the rate of loss rapidly.
To ensure probiotic viability, we add ample additional bacteria overage into the formula to account for loss during transportation, so that our probiotics meet our colony-forming unit claim on the label up to the expiration date. The ideal storage temperature for probiotics is below 25°C. No need for refrigeration and do not freeze.
Spectrumceuticals Activ-Vial™ desiccant lined containers protect probiotics so they stay viable and effective without refrigeration. Store at 25°C or below. no need for refrigeration, do not freeze.
Spectrumceuticals Activ-Vial™ packaging eliminates the need for desiccant sachets and canisters by integrating a desiccant sleeve within the bottle design. Because the sleeve surrounds the capsules inside the bottle, it provides 360-degree protection from moisture that would otherwise seep through the walls of a standard bottle with a desiccant sachet.
An additional benefit is that the desiccant sleeve cannot be accidentally removed by patients, providing assured protection throughout the patient’s use.
