Benefits

  • Amylase from Aspergillus oryzae assists breakdown of starch.
  • Protease from Aspergilllus oryzae assists digestion.
  • Lipase from Rhizopus oryzae assists breakdown of dietary fat.
  • Lactase from Aspergillus oryzae assists breakdown of lactose which is the sugar naturally found in dairy foods.
  • Cellulase from Trichoderma longibrachiatum assists breakdown of cellulose plant fibre. This helps assimilation of nutrients in fruits and vegetables.

MD Nutritionals DigeZyme may be beneficial to:

  • Relieve dyspepsia and digestive discomfort.
  • Help stimulate digestive enzyme production and assimilation of nutrients.

Directions

Adults: Take 1 capsule three times daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Active Ingredients

Each MD Nutritionals DigeZyme vegetarian capsule contains:
Amylase (from Aspergillus oryzae) 3,600DU
Protease (from Aspergillus oryzae) 1,500HUT
Cellulase (from Trichoderma longibrachiatum) 165CU
Tilctase (from Aspergillus oryzae) 600ALU
Lipase (from Rhizopus oryzae) 75LipU

Measure of Potency:

DU = Dextrinizing Unit

HUT = Haemoglobin Unit Tyrosine base

CU = Cellulase Unit

ALU = Acid Lactase Unit

LipU = Lipase Unit.

Enzyme: Source: Substrate:

  • Amylase Aspergillus oryzae Carbohydrates (starches & other polysaccharides)
  • Cellulase Trichoderma longibrachiatum Cellulose (plant fibre)
  • Lipase Rhizopus oryzae Fats (triglycerides and other lipids)
  • Protease Aspergillus oryzae Protein (large amino acid chains)
  • Tilactase Aspergillus oryzae Lactose (milk sugar)

The enzyme tilactase obtained from Aspergillus oryzae is the Australian approved name for lactase. Lactase (tilactase) is specific to assist lactose breakdown, the primary disaccharide found in dairy products. Improved lactase activity may assist digestive health. Lactase from Aspergillus oryzae is involved in the breakdown of lactose to glucose and galactose.

Cellulase obtained from Trichoderma longibrachiatum aids breakdown of cellulose, an indigestible plant polysaccharide. The human body does not produce cellulose so it is normally obtained from the diet.

Lipase obtained from Rhizopus oryzae is a lipid degrading enzyme. Lipase is also involved in absorption of fat soluble vitamins.
