• Improves skin structure and elasticity: Collagen provides the building blocks for the extracellular matrix (ECM) and stimulates the production of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.7 VERISOL collagen has been shown in clinical studies (in females) to support collagen formation, skin structure and elasticity, and overall skin health. Collagen peptides have been shown to inhibit the metalloproteinases (enzymes) involved in breaking down collagen in the dermis. Collagen has been shown to improve connective tissue structure and dermal tissue density, ultimately leading to a reduction in cellulite appearance.
• Protects the skin from damage and supports dermal repair: The skin can be exposed to damage in the presence of inflammatory skin conditions (such as acne, mild eczema and psoriasis) as well as external stimuli. Hyaluronic acid modulates inflammation, cellular migration and angiogenesis, which are the main phases of dermal repair. Vitamin C helps to support skin healing and regeneration through synthesis of collagen and inhibiting inflammation (NF-?B) and oxidation, which contribute to collagen breakdown. Vitamin C supports epidermal barrier function through ceramide production by keratinocytes, which may help in skin conditions with low epidermal ceramide content (mild atopic dermatitis and psoriasis). Nicotinamide is a precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and prevents against ATP depletion thereby enhancing DNA repair and inhibiting sun exposure induced immunosuppression.
• Skin hydration: A loss of skin hydration is seen in conditions such as mild atopic dermatitis (eczema) and psoriasis, as well as being part of the natural ageing process. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan with a unique capacity to bind and retain water molecules. Aging and extrinsic stimuli such as solar ultraviolet radiation, smoking and air pollutants gradually reduces the amount of HA in the body, reducing moisture, suppleness and elasticity.
• High quality ingredients: VERISOL contains predominately type I collagen, which is the main collagen type found in skin. Hydrolysed collagen (HC) is formed when denatured native collagen undergoes hydrolysis by proteolytic enzymes. It is highly digestible and is easily absorbed and distributed in the human body.
