L-Glycine is a conditionally essential amino acid which acts rapidly in the central nervous system to inhibit excitation. As there is no regulation over its uptake (unlike taurine) this is the perfect option to lead with, particularly when the brain is under excitatory overload (e.g. conditions such as depression, acute stress, drug use and extreme insomnia).
Due to its role in one carbon metabolism and bile synthesis, glycine has many possible therapeutic applications.
