- Inositol hexanicotinate consists of six molecules of nicotinic acid bound to one inositol molecule. Due to the molecular structure of inositol hexanicotinate, it is slowly hydrolysed in the body to release high strength niacin and inositol. This unique compound allows for true niacin activity without the characteristic flush.
- Inositol hexanicotinate is a broad acting, flush-free niacin. Pharmacokinetic studies indicate that inositol hexanicotinate is metabolised over time, providing an extended release of free niacin.
- Inositol hexanicotinate is a well tolerated high strength niacin with minimal side effects generally associated with conventional niacin therapy.
- Niacin is an established approach to manage healthy cholesterol ratios. It is now generally accepted that niacin is a powerful pharmacologic agent to help maintain optimal high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol concentrations. Calcium hydrogen phosphate, cellulose microcrystalline, povidone, crospovidone, silica colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate (vegetable source), opadry II yellow, and carnauba wax.

- Niacinol Forte is not recommended in active or chronic liver disease.
- Niacinol Forte should not be taken in pregnancy or lactation.

- Unlike standard niacin therapy that raises liver enzymes, inositol hexanicotinate has a reduced potential. While there are no reports of liver toxicity associated with inositol hexanicotinate, it is recommended that regular liver enzyme tests be performed.
- Inositol hexanicotinate may add to the effects of herbs or natural compounds that lower blood cholesterol levels.
- Caution is recommended for clients on blood thinning medication.
- IHN is well tolerated however doctor?s authorisation and monitoring is recommended when combining with cholesterol lowering medications.
- Orthodox Niacin therapy has been associated with flushing, hepatotoxicity, high uric acid levels, GIT side effects and increases blood sugar.
- Inositol Hexanicotinate (also known as Hexanicotinoyl Inositol, IHN, Inositol Hexaniacinate or Inositol Niacinate; Inositol Nicotinate) consists of one molecule of Inositol bound to six molecules of Nicotinic Acid (by weight, 10% Inositol + 90% Nicotinic Acid). Chemically, it is the hexanicotinic acid ester of Inositol. Inositol Hexanicotinate is absorbed intact and then hydrolzyed within the body to release “free” Nicotinic Acid and Inositol. Inositol Hexanicotinate is metabolized more slowly than “free” Nicotinic Acid - it does not reach maximum Blood Serum levels until approximately 10 hours after its oral ingestion:
